Early Morning Coffee Call
There's nothing better than spending a chilly day in a cafe with a cup of coffee in hand. Ask a friend to join you and you're really in for a treat! The ambience of cafes is easily one of my favorites. The sound of coffee machines, mixed in with the soft chatter from other customers, makes for a great place to either meet up with friends or finish some work. Chicago has a ton of great cafes; I’m slowly but surely trying to make my way to them all! As of right now, it's hard for me to spend a lot of time in the city since I’m a full-time student in the suburbs. Hopefully after graduation I will be able to fix that!
Speaking of cool cafes, if you haven't been to Magnolia Bakery, I definitely recommend it. It's located right on State Street, across from Macy's. You can't miss it. It was my favorite cupcake place before I went vegan (they have the best frosting that will melt in your mouth.) However, I still can enjoy a cup of their coffee. Magnolia Bakery is super quaint and will surely leave you in awe, between their decorations and sweet treats. On another note, I’m thinking about doing a post on some of my favorite vegan/vegetarian-friendly spots in Chicago. Let me know if that would be something you’d like to see!
For my cafe attire, I’m wearing a royal blue turtleneck and one of my favorite jackets (ever) that I picked up from H&M a year or two ago. I love it because it’s not only warm, but has a unique pattern. For some reason, it reminds me a lot of Audrey Hepburn. My jeans are from Zara, along with my boots. I appreciate how they give me some height, but are still feasible to walk in. Lastly, I wore some vintage blue teardrop earrings. Hope you enjoy!
