A Coastal Cruise To Point Reyes

Located in Northern California’s Marin Country, Point Reyes is a stunning coastline filled with lush trees, roaming wildlife, and sweeping ocean views. Being there truly felt like I was in a dream—one that I didn’t want to end.

We headed out early Monday morning, grabbing breakfast and coffee to fuel us for our adventure. Point Reyes is an hour or so from the city, depending on traffic. I highly recommend renting a car as there’s a lot of ground to cover once you get there. We knew we first had to stop at the infamous Cypress Tree Tunnel (photographed below). We were surprised to find ourselves completely alone there, driving slowly through to look up at the towering trees perfectly aligned on each side of the road. The view at the end is just as breathtaking.

From cows to sunbathing seals, there was no shortage of wildlife sightings along the way. It was cool to see animals roaming freely with this beautiful backdrop behind them. They were minding their own business, living their best lives. We continued our coastal cruise to Chimney Rock Trail, where we were greeted with more surreal landscape views, and then Drake’s Beach. Since we were only there for the day, we saw only a fraction of what Point Reyes has to offer. I also was feeling pretty sick with cramps (the ones where it’s hard to walk), so I would love to return someday. For now, I’ll be reminiscing through these photos.
