Need for Pink Tweed

It wasn’t until my freshman year of high school that I really started getting into fashion. I remember spending hours on end scrolling through Tumblr and Blogspot taking in photo after photo of street style and runway looks. It was exciting for me to have a creative outlet of my own; a place where I could find outfit inspiration and share my own looks, too. I soaked up as much as I could—designers, trends on the runway, and the lucky bloggers that attended shows. Even the smaller details like the names of clothing items and the fabrics used were fun to learn about. One fabric I fell in love during my “studies” was tweed. As a tribute to my high school self, I created a look that features one of my favorite tweed jackets.

High school aside, this is still a classic winter outfit for me. Throw on a long coat and voilá! I’m all set. It’s the perfect mix of comfy and chic (Let’s be real, grandma chic but that’s beside the point). The distressed, polished look of tweed is one I’ll never get tired of wearing. Plus, it’s quite warm which is a must if you plan on stepping foot outside (Thanks for the below zero weather, Chicago!) Pieces like this that are fashionable and functional are key for dressing in the winter.
