Elevated Neutrals

Neutrals have and will always play a huge role in what I wear. It’s no surprise as they are classic pieces that provide a great base for any wardrobe. While I love dressing in these colors just as much as the next person, they can start to feel a bit plain after some time. Here are three distinctions that give neutral pieces an elevated twist.

Prints

Take a classic piece to the next level with a print. Leopard, zebra, snakeskin, you name it! The list goes on. Here I dressed up white jeans with a thrifted zebra and leopard print tank top.

Textures

Mixing different textures is a great way to give an outfit an extra oomph. Think lace, faux leather, or even sequins! When I saw this purse, I knew it would be a great piece to do just that. In a subtle yet fun way, it adds a whole new element to this ensemble.

Cut and Size

When thinking of other factors that make a garment stand out, the cut and size both play a huge role. I always love to buy blazers and button-up shirts in a larger size to achieve an oversized effect. No matter what look you’re going for, this is a great way to highlight your favorite neutral piece.
